Site activities: There are lovely hiking trails on the farm varying from a 40 min sun downer walk to a 3,5 hour hike up our mountains into the stunning Oskloof and to our mountain spring. You will enjoy view points and picnic places along the trail and can discover the beautiful and versatile vegetation of the Biedouw Valley. For those who want to make a full day hike there is an extremely nice hike to the top of Krakadouw Mountain close by.

Description: Kleinfontein farm provides comfortable self-catering accommodation and is situated in the northern part of the Cederberg Mountains, at the foot of the Pakhuis Pass (eastern side) on the R364 from Clanwilliam. De Pakhuys and Bushman’s Kloof Wilderness Reserve are in close proximity. Characteristic of the area, the farm displays the majestic splendor of the sharply defined reddish sandstone rock formations. These rock formations created caved housing to the San people (Bushmen), signified by their art that was left as a treasure.
The location is far enough from the city to enjoy unspoilt nature and starry skies, yet close enough to serve as base for exploring the scenic Cederberg wilderness and flower haven. The farm turnoff is shared with Die Poort in the Rocklands area.
Bed capacity: Kleinfontein currently has four self-catering units available. “Witkaree” is a two bedroom unit suitable for 5 people (one double bed and three single beds), “Klipspringer” can house 2 people (single double bed), “Berg-Kaya” can house 2 people (single double bed), and furnished tented accommodation is suitable for 3 people (one double and one single bed).

A true country den, the Thatch House at Yellow Aloe is more than just a house, this cottage maintains its homely feel with a central fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and handcrafted garden. Each of the four rooms inside the house has been elegantly decorated with a soft colour palette and subtly emphasises the beauty of the Cederberg region. The Loft Rooms situated upstairs in our flagship homestead, the Cream, Yellow and White rooms have been tastefully decorated to compliment the country-chic ambience of Yellow Aloe.
