The property also contains a communal ablution block, which has showers, basins, and separate toilets. Besides tented stands, guests are welcome to bring their caravans, camper vans and echo 4×4’s. Communal braai areas are available to use as well.
On-site facilities: Breakfast and dinner on request. Free WiFi. Take advantage of the recreation opportunities such as an outdoor pool, eco-camping, hiking, fishing adventures, bird watching, mountain biking, swimming in the river, canoeing (depending on water level), quad and 4×4 adventures.

The two companies MAAP and The House of Aloes function alongside one another and offer a unique experience to visitors. They have an excellent SHOP where customers can browse and buy the Alcare products, a well run and comfortable Aloe Expresso COFFEE SHOP where they can relax and experience warm Southern Cape hospitality and exciting TOURS of the MAAP factory where they can see the whole production process from Aloe ferox leaf to all of the raw products.
The NG Church.
Built in 1904 has an exceptional style and historical background. Information tours through the church can be arranged with the Tourism Bureau of Albertinia. The original Dutch Reformed Church was inaugurated in 1904 and rebuilt in 1952. The first minister was the Reverend Mr. DJ Malan.

- The Town had its origin from the spiritual need of the farmers in the area and to establish an education institution.
- A portion of the farm Grootfontein was bought by the Dutch Reformed Church in 1902 from the widow Anna Sophia Lourens.
- Mr. Henry Stanford had already bought another portion of the farm in 1881 which was called Stanfords . This portion came in 1912 under the control of the Town’s Management.
- It is named after the Reverend JR Albertyn of Riversdale, who wanted to establish a church in this area and was proclaimed a town on 18 November 1904.
